The Truth is Out There!
Lion Forge Labs accepted the challenge to create an original story and characters that would be just as lively as The Magic House located in St. Louis. Labs developed a narrative full of mystery and adventure, all while highlighting the fun of learning and discovery of the children’s museum by building brand recognition in an illustrated novel.
Magic, Mystery and Adventure in One Novel
By creating a variety of characters and experience tie-ins, Labs had the opportunity to reach an audience of 7-10-year olds. The series is an insight into all the many adventures and permanent exhibits that are to be discovered at The Magic House. With each experience, the kids work together to solve the mysteries that lay ahead.
In our story, we adventure with Wisteria and Wilby Wiggins as they spend a day at their mom’s job in The Magic House. Wisteria and Wilby meet Nac, a runaway alien from the planet Piffle, and his amazing pets known as a Neeners. Wisteria, Wilby and Nac need to act fast so that the Neeners don’t plunge the entire museum into chaos!

Unique experience tie-ins
The Magic House book provides a continuing story that celebrates the children’s museum and adds additional merchandising to The Magic House gift shop. It also adds potential partnering opportunity with retailer(s) or bookstores. Labs created point-of-sale displays with uniquely-designed cutouts that add to the museum visitor experience. Characters are also used on marketing materials, POS displays, multi-media, animations, and multiple platforms for long-term use.
Enhancing literacy for non-readers
By blending visual art and written word on each page of the novel, Labs printed over two thousand books for distribution. Interior art enhances the storyline and celebrates the museum, enticing boys and girls who may be early readers or non-readers and emphasizing the value of literacy.
